Most images of fields of rape show the flower in full bloom as an unbroken blanket of yellow. I wanted to capture a scene before full bloom with some interesting details. I spotted the potential for this scene whilst cycling in the countryside close to where I live. I returned a week or so later to check the flowering and on my third visit all the conditions were right for this image.
This is actually five images stitched together in photoshop to create a hi resolution panoramic. The resulting image is almost exactly as pre-visualised some weeks earlier which is immensely satisfying.
