One day into our holiday, good weather was forecast and so the alarm was set early and we were up and out to make the most the small window of opportunity. The conditions were astoundingly good for the time of year here in the highlands of Scotland, all I had to do was make something good of it photographically.

But I didn't have my eye in yet and none of the first frosty early morning attempts had worked. Cold and frustrated I headed back across the thawing boggy moorland to the car. It was only once I had got back to the place we had started that this bog caught my eye and finally a decent image fell into place.
