As any experienced photographer will know, shooting scenic woodland images is difficult. As photographers we seek to find order, simplification, balance, harmony in our images and woodland by its very nature is usually anything but and trying to find a composition that works can be frustrating.
Here I found three tree trunks which helped to give structure to the image. Colourful foliage as foreground interest and a distant hillside diffused by fine rain help to give a sense of depth. The overcast sky and rain also help to bring the colours alive.
