I was photographing from this viewpoint the previous year on the edge of Dunwich Heath looking out over the wetlands towards Sizewell B Nuclear power station. Then the heather had been in full bloom and provided a splash of vibrant colour in the foreground but the magic ingredient, low racking sunlight was absent.

On this occasion I had the sunlight, a fabulous sky but barely any heather. I sought out alternative foreground interest and this golden coloured bracken leaf helpfully pointing roughly towards Sizewell B on the horizon did the trick.
