My wife and I went on a weeks holiday in West Wales for the New Year. The winter storms made life fairly challenging and despite a few valiant attempts I didn't come home with many winning images.

As I was despondently looking through my images on screen after the holiday my first thoughts were that our early morning rise and hike up to this point overlooking the Mawddach Estuary had been in vain. The colour palette of the images was washed out and unappealing but this one still worked in other respects. 'Why don't you see what it looks like in black and white?' my wife said from behind my shoulder. Aha! Clever girl!
