On this dull grey day as I walked along this beach on the Isle of Wight I was determined to make an image despite the unfavourable conditions. In the absence of attractive light I knew I would need an additional element to give some visual interest. This old knot of rope caught amongst the rocks was just the job to act as textured foreground interest and a natural lead in line to the scene.
