Its a still summer evening on the banks of the river Brathay in the Lake District with the Langdale Pikes perfectly reflected. But the cloudscape is dull and there is no mood or atmosphere to this scene.
Time for the 10 stop neutral density filter to be pulled out from the depths of the camera bag. To be fair I haven't had a lot of success with this filter and rarely use it. It tends to do weird things to the colours and is very hit or miss in its effect.
This was a two minute exposure and it has added a good deal of drama to the sky by showing the movement of the cloud. Converting to black and white dealt with the weird colours
