Before setting off from the car on our ascent of Snowdon on a cold and wet January day I almost opted to leave the heavy camera equipment behind and just take my compact. After all what chance would there be of making a decent image anyway?
Having stopped for a winter picnic sheltering from the the worst of the wind and sleet behind rocks just below the snow line I was thankful for lugging up the gear. That was when the conditions improved momentarily. Of course every experienced landscaper knows that the best images are usually made in the worst weather.
